Condensery Smokestack

The Condensery Smokestack
Photo copyright Monroe Historical Society

This 150-foot tall concrete smokestack at the east end of Monroe is all that is left of the Carnation Condensery building that was built in 1908 and destroyed by fire in 1944. The smokestack, itself, was not built until the early 1920s when it replaced two shorter metal smokestacks. Taken looking west from Traveler Park July 2003.
