Main Street, Monroe, 1912 This photo of the 1912 Independence Day Festivities was taken looking west up Main Street (from about point F on this detail of the 1910 platmap) through the intersection with Lewis Street and shows a number of buildings recognizable today, particularly on the near left, which is the block that burned in the 1901 fire.
