Monroe Historical Society photo #1271

The soda fountain (at left) was closed down in the winter. William Guy Riley is at right with Charles Low behind him. Camp-Riley sent Low to a university in Oregon to study pharmacy, but instead he took mining engineering and eventually became the president of the Tacoma Smelter. The drug store was located at 108 East Main Street and also sold phonographs and cigars (at right).
