Two men with axes standing on springboards pause after undercutting an old-growth fir tree to have their picture taken by Dairus Kinsey. Note the jug and cross-cut saw. This copy of Kinsey photo #2216½ was part of a collection of seven Kinsey logging photos originally owned by B.F. Bird, of which the other six were of the Stephen-Bird Logging Company operations south of Monroe, and were taken in 1912. This photo is therefore quite probably related to that operation or to B.F. Bird.
