Monroe Union High School in 1924 View looks northwest showing front (south) and east side of the school and part of the back wing, which housed the gymnasium and assembly room. It opened in September 1911 and was torn down in the summer of 1965 after the April earthquake damaged it. A new high school was built on the same site on the southeast corner of Hill and Kelsey Streets. Today it is Monroe Middle School. Note that the football field (goal post) was on the east side of the building. Please use your Back Button to return to the previous pageReturn to Main Menu |
