The fairgrounds were then at 10th and Avenue D, Snohomish, where the BPA switchyard is now. The eight-acre site was leased for the fair until 1915, when the county fair was moved to Granite Falls. The first Monroe Fair was held Friday afternoon and Saturday, Sept. 4 & 5, 1903. It eventually evolved into today's Evergreen State Fair.
