In 1909 the Monroe Post Office moved from the Hotel Pearsall to 200 W. Main St. in the east end of the Hallan Building, the small triangular 200-block of the south side of West Main Street. From left to right: Mike Bird, Mr. Swanson, postal clerk Bertha Shrum (later Mrs. Walter S. Camp), and mail carrier William Bledsoe. Robert H. Stapleton was postmaster serving from 1901 to 1914.
