Monroe Post Office in 1909 in the Hallan Building In 1909 the Monroe Post Office moved from the Hotel Pearsall to 200 W. Main St. in the east end of the Hallan Building, the small triangular 200-block of the south side of West Main Street. From left to right: Mike Bird, Mr. Swanson, postal clerk Bertha Shrum (later Mrs. Walter S. Camp), and mail carrier William Bledsoe. Robert H. Stapleton was postmaster serving from 1901 to 1914.
