Wagner Community History Now on DVD

The slide presentation created by the Monroe Historical Society for the dedication of the Salem Woods Elementary School, Salem Woods School: Symbol of Community Survival, has been professionally transferred to DVD and VHS Video and is now available to the public.

Using historic photos, archival materials, and oral histories, the approximately 45-minute-long feature traces the history of the Wagner Community from the arrival of pioneer Salem Woods through The Depression.

The presentation was produced and written by Nancy Moore Rockafellar when she was president of the Monroe Historical Society, and it was partially funded by the Washington State Humanities Commission and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Copies of the DVD are $20 and copies of the VHS Video are $15. Both are available at the Monroe Historical Society Museum.
