each is provided below. Please feel free to

An
8 1/2 x 11 booklet with 23 pages
chronicling the precursor Robinson Lettuce Farn and its failure, and
Charles H Frye's vast undertaing at land clearing and draining,
growing, harvesting, packing, and shipping lettuce and other crops from
Monroe to east coast markets. Struggling thru the Depression and
facing foreclosure, Frye worked to the very end. The Frye Art Museum in Seattle has his
legacy. Researched and

This 8 1/2 x 11 booklet is 15 pages covering the earliest agricultural exhibits and fairs in Snohomish and Everett as well as the first Monroe Fair held in 1903; Also covered are the Community Fairs of 1937 - 1939; the Cavalcade of the Valleys of 1941, 1944, and 1945; The Snohomish County Fairs of 1946-1948; and the Evergreen State Fair 1949-2008. This book contains fair announcements from the Monroe Monitor as well as copies of early Fair Posters. Researched and written by Bill Wojciechowski. This 5

factual history of the places, people, and events that formed a part of
Monroe. Typical topics cover the mayors, early doctors and
dentists, the hospitals, railroads, saw and shingle mills, pioneer
schools, etc.

County Illustrated History: $49.95An 8 1/2 x 11 Hard cover book written by David Cameron, Charles P LeWarne, M. Annan May, Jack C. O'Donnell and Lawrence E. O'Donnell. Over 400 pages of hard cover book providing the history of Snohomish County, it's beginnings and it's inhabitants 1849 - 2004. Videos
A
History of Monroe, and particularly, the Wood's Creek district.
The program was written and produced by Nancy Moore Rockafellar with
narrations by Emil Anderson, Mildred Brame, Nels Carlson, Paul Graden
and Paul Wagner. Ron Carraher was the design and photography
consultant and Patrick McClatchy was the historical consultant.
Original publication was a slide show in 1981, since converted to VHS
Video and DVD format by the Monroe Historical Society thanks to a
generous grant from the Tualco Homemakers Club. Photo
