Monroe Historical
Society presents a Night at the Movies Sept. 17
The
Monroe Historical Society invites the community to its quarterly
membership meeting Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Tualco Grange. Dessert
will be
served
at 6:30 p.m. followed by the showing of three old-time movies from the
1930s.
“The
Great Tractor Race,” Logging Then and Now” and “Sunstroke Tractor
Co.,” a spoof of manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations for
Caterpillar
equipment,
will be screened at 7 p.m. Come see how times have changed and share a
few
laughs.
Free
popcorn will be served and guests will have a chance to enter a
raffle for movie tickets to Monroe’s
Galaxy Theatre. Tickets may also be purchased for
the Historical Society’s
annual quilt raffle. Local history books, photos, videos, mugs and
other items
will also be available.
The
Tualco Grange is located at 18933 Tualco Road,
just outside Monroe
across the Lewis Street
Bridge. All ages are
